$20,000 Goal

Every week in Rancho Cordova, 1,500 families rely on the Rancho Cordova Food Locker for food. On Big Day of Giving, you have the power to help ensure those families continue to have access to fresh, nutritious food close to home.

For most of its history, the Rancho Cordova Food Locker (RCFL) has been powered by a passionate group of volunteers committed to helping neighbors in need. Since 2019, however, the number of households facing food insecurity in our community has grown dramatically. In response, the Food Locker took an important step forward in 2020 by becoming an official 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a member of Catholic Charities, strengthening our ability to serve families across Rancho Cordova.

We are proud to be part of the Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services partner network, collaborating with organizations throughout the region that work together to address hunger. While the Sacramento Food Bank provides critical regional support and food sourcing, donations made directly to Rancho Cordova Food Locker stay local, helping us serve families right here in our community.

Today, we serve 1,500 families every week in just nine hours of distribution time—that’s 167 families per hour, or three families every minute. Our work is made possible by an incredible community of volunteers, food donors, and financial supporters who believe that no one should go hungry.

But we know we can—and must—do more.

That’s why we are building the Rancho Cordova Community Food Hub, a transformational new facility opening in June 2026. Located in a remodeled 6,600-square-foot building on Don Juan Drive, the Community Food Hub will introduce the region’s first people’s choice grocery-style marketplace, allowing families to select the foods that best meet their cultural, dietary, and household needs.

Beyond food access, the Community Food Hub will offer nutrition education, health resources, workforce development programs, and other wraparound services, creating a comprehensive approach to addressing food insecurity.

Your support on Big Day of Giving helps ensure that families in Rancho Cordova have access to fresh food and critical services close to home.

When you give locally, your impact stays local.

Rancho Cordova has always been a community that shows up for its neighbors. When you give to the Rancho Cordova Food Locker, your gift stays right here—helping families, seniors, veterans, and children in our own neighborhoods access healthy food and essential resources.

Please consider making a donation today or becoming a year-round supporter of the Community Food Hub. Together, we can build a stronger, healthier community for everyone.

Giving Activity

Mission

We provide access to nutritious good food to our friends and neighbors faced with hunger. Our success is not measured by pounds of food distributed but by lives changed.

Needs

Rancho Cordova Food Locker is seeking donations. Hunger is a growing problem across the country and right here in Rancho Cordova. We are currently serving nearly three times as many households as we were a year ago. Your donations go directly towards helping our friends and neighbors get access to the food they need.
