$50,000 Goal

Progress Ranch is a nonprofit public benefit 501(c)(3) agency. Our team is committed to providing excellent individualized, intensive mental health care for some of California’s most vulnerable children and families.

Founded in 1976, we have been serving children for more than 45 years. Despite many successful decades, the COVID pandemic has placed our organization at major risk of financial instability. Because we will never compromise the level of care we provide, we continue to incur costs in excess of what we are given in funding from government sources.

This is our second year participating in the Big Day of Giving and our hope is that with additional financial support from generous donors, we can continue to provide invaluable care and services to youth who desperately need us. There is no good alternative or replacement for the care we provide and sadly, without organizations like ours, more children will end up in shelters, psychiatric facilities, and juvenile detention centers.

2023 Achievements

Our New Welcome Center

In partnership with Sacramento County, children ages zero to 18 (co-ed), usually stay with us for up to 10 days. We often work with groups of siblings and especially vulnerable youth such as pregnant teens. Here, we offer a safe, comfortable home staffed by specially trained Therapeutic Care Workers, Mental Health Workers, and Social Workers.

The Progress Ranch Welcome Center is a temporary shelter care program designed to provide a nurturing home where children and youth receive therapeutic support and case management as they transition between homes in the foster care system.

Progress Ranch offers safe refuge and mental health treatment for children in need.  Our services currently support boys ages 6 through 13, though in emergency situations we have accepted children just outside of this age-range. Most of the children we serve have endured complex trauma.  County children's services and private health plans make referrals for the children we serve based on needs.

Progress Ranch is a fully licensed Short Term Residential Therapeutic Program, (STRTP), and became a licensed Medi-Cal mental health clinic in 2022. Boys live in comfortable, safe, family-style homes while under our care. Our program focuses on age-appropriate activities, healing, and developing healthy relationships and skills. Our goal is for each boy to be able to experience permanency and thrive with the available supports in their foster, adoptive, or birth family community. Families are encouraged to learn and grow alongside their children.
