Placer Community Foundation

A nonprofit organization

For two decades, Placer Community Foundation has inspired philanthropy to respond to critical community needs and build a thriving region where every person prospers.

As a trusted advisor and navigator for individuals, families, businesses, and government partners, we make a meaningful difference throughout this region and beyond. We serve as a critical link between caring donors, committed nonprofits, and local communities to help everyone thrive.

We keep our finger on the pulse of the issues and organizations that make a difference in our region. We deeply understand the challenges at hand and the nonprofits working to solve them.

As a tax-exempt public charity, we carefully steward the charitable resources of our community. We are accredited by the Council on Foundations for meeting its national standards for community foundations and maintain a four-star Charity Navigator rating and Candid Platinum Seal of Transparency.

Giving Activity

Mission

Placer Community Foundation provides leadership and grows local giving to strengthen our community. Our vision is Placer County – a healthy, connected community.

Needs

Community Impact Fund

The challenge: Fragmented efforts and resources in tackling complex community issues in Placer County.

What your gift will fund: Leadership on key issues in the community and promotion of philanthropy throughout the region. This includes collaboration, advocacy and education around workforce housing, food delivery systems, homelessness, enrichment activities in the visual arts, and more.

Placer Housing Matters

The challenge: Placer County severely lacks affordable, secure housing for our local workforce, low-income families, people with disabilities, youth and seniors.

What your gift will fund: Funding for Placer Housing Matters, focused on mobilizing community support, participating in community-planning processes, and engaging in advocacy at both local and state levels to promote alternative housing solutions suitable for the county.

Nonprofit Initiative

The challenge: Placer County nonprofits play a critical role in supporting our community, yet they often grapple with limited resources and operational challenges that hinder their effectiveness and sustainability. They need stronger infrastructure and management practices to increase their capacity and carry out their missions.

What your gift will fund: Educational opportunities and access to experts to help local nonprofit organizations reach their full potential.

Community Needs Fund

The challenge: Unrestricted resources are needed to be responsive to unforeseen and changing needs in our community.

What your gift will fund: Increased grantmaking dollars that can be deployed into the community to serve a variety of changing needs as our community evolves over time.

Disaster Relief

The challenge: Gifts to this Fund allow PCF to support delivery of services needed for varying types of disasters in varying types of communities. Whether it is power outages caused by winter storms or entire communities in lockdown during a pandemic, this fund supports a countywide response for those in crises.

What your gift will fund: Flexible resources for local organizations to provide direct assistance to those who are most impacted.
