Placer County Law Enforcement Chaplaincy (PCLEC) was founded by a group of pastors and volunteers organized in 1977 at the request of the Sheriff to serve the needs of law enforcement. It became incorporated as a 501(c)(3) agency in 1986.

WHO WE ARE:
PCLEC provides the service of trained, critical incident chaplains on a 24 hour, 7 days a week basis. This vital Chaplaincy program is comprised of a team of specially trained individuals who volunteer their time to help and serve others. All of our Chaplains are trained to lend a helping hand to every person, without regard to religious preference (including no preference), and are frequently requested to contact pastors, priests, rabbis and other religious leaders to assist families.

The chaplaincy is governed by a board of directors, which oversees its fiscal integrity and monitors its planning and policy. Members of the board of directors are taken from a cross-section of the community and are comprised of law enforcement personnel, pastors, and business owners. The board includes corporate officers acting as President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The Chaplaincy is staffed by a full time Senior Chaplain, a full time Deputy Senior Chaplain and a part time office manager. Currently, in addition to the above-mentioned paid staff, there are 39 volunteer Chaplains (26 Community Chaplains, 7 Law Enforcement Chaplains, 6 trainees).

WHO WE SERVE:
PCLEC serves the law enforcement agencies in Placer County (namely, Roseville Police Department, Rocklin Police Department, Lincoln Police Department, Auburn Police Department, State of California Parks & Recreation Dept, Placer County District Attorney, and County and State Probation Departments). We also serve the Placer County Sheriff's Office and their large geographical area covering 1,502 square miles, spanning from Roseville up to and including the Truckee /Tahoe Basin. We serve the First Responders for Placer County including Four Municipal Fire Departments, Cal Fire, and AMR.
