Welcome to The Ooley Theatre! We are founded by EMH Productions' executive creative director Elise Hodge with the intent of creating a non-profit space for live performing arts as well as workshops and much more!

Fantastic Performers

From theatre to music to stand-up and even magicians we have a lot going on in this little space. We also LIVE STREAM from The Ooley Theatre offering those who are unable to simply attend in person for whatever reason a chance to still see a great live show. A 3 Camera State of the Art set-up is used to give you a feeling of really being right there in the room with us. We know many are now not comfortable in crowds of any size, or there are those who simply cannot get out any more and we think you are just as important as our in person crowd. Live Stream is offered on a variety of shows so check out the box office and see!

Mission

2025 will be the 15th year for EMH Productions to bring thought provoking, intimate and unique stories to life and is excited to now have it's Non-profit venture, The Ooley Theatre, up and running for year round live shows! EMH Productions and The Ooley Theatre supports the art of acting, directing, producing writing and various forms of live performance. The mission is to provide an arena that artists in this industry can network, grow their craft and find support to achieve their goals. Bring to light your dream project and let's see what we can do together to bring it to fruition.

Needs

We have need to make a few repairs at our space and to maintain our little venue for our community (rent, utilities, etc). Small projects such as replacing the kitchen sink and minor plumbing in our backstage area are on the list! And we can always use help with funding for our many variety of live performances for marketing and advertising to reach the community we serve in Midtown Sacramento and surrounding areas. We thank you for giving this little venue the chance to bring affordable live entertainment to our community!

Equity Statement

Someone finally clued me into what this section is for and I feel like an idiot now. OF COURSE The Ooley Theatre is DEVOTED to Diversity, Equality and Inclusion. I have listed we want to invite everyone to creatively Dream, to creatively Evolve and not only creatively Inspire others but to be Inspired by others too! We want to see more culturally diverse groups bring their productions to our stage so we can share with the greater community the wealth of stories, viewpoints and incredible artistic talent that is here in Sacramento. A vibrant kaleidoscope of actors, writers, directors, producers, crew and designers are all welcome at The Ooley where your voice is important to be heard.
