Mother Natives is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating environmental stewardship and community connection through native plants. We offer workshops, classes, and design services that help individuals create sustainable, beautiful landscapes rooted in local ecology.
As a ReScape certified business and an approved designer for the City of Sacramento, we are committed to regenerative practices that support biodiversity and pollinators. Through our Deadzone Destroyers program, we transform neglected spaces into thriving native gardens that restore habitat and bring people together.
Mother Natives cultivates connection to land, self, and community through the care and celebration of native plants. We offer inclusive education, hands-on experiences, and community-centered gatherings that invite people of all backgrounds to build meaningful relationships with local ecology and with one another. By centering native flora and beneficial pollinators, we nurture biodiversity, foster belonging, and support the collective well-being of both people and place.
Mother Natives is growing quickly, and community support helps us keep our programs accessible. Donations support supplies for hands-on workshops and the buildout of our Community Seed Library. Funds also help us host free and low-cost events so more people can learn about California native plants and create habitat for pollinators across Sacramento.
We are all a part of the same ecosystem. We work to create public native gardens and educational opportunities that are accessible to all. Our approach is rooted in community, shared learning, and making space for people to connect with local ecology in ways that feel welcoming and attainable.
