MA SERIES ARTS is a multi-disciplinary performing arts and presenting organization. Dedicated to support, performance, research and practice by women, queer of color, and trans artists. We are a Queer Chicanx/Black/African-American/Indigenous and Native womxn led organization. Our focus is set on supporting culture & via artists who uplift and honor their communities through regenerative, visionary, and experimental practices and have been historically left outside of traditional funding cycles. We are dedicated to working together to thrive. Together, we listen to and honor the work we are called to create both with our communities and within the expansion of our personal practices'.
Our organization supports a robust fiscal sponsor program including Sacramento's theater visionaries: The MacBeth Project
The MacBeth Project was built out of a community outcry for more African American representation in the classical theater arts. It is a 5-year project producing the story of MacBeth, co-created with a different cultural asset each year, infusing the productions with both cultural identities.
We are supported and sustained by each-other, our communities and with grants from The Jessie Flying Cloud Foundation, The California Arts Council, California Humanities, Placer Community Foundation and Placer Arts Council.
