Love Liberated is community centered care, created for us, by us.
Founded in 2021, Love Liberated is a BIQTPOC-led Non-profit collective rooted in care, healing, and sexual wellness.
We are Black, Indigenous, Queer, and Trans people of color creating the spaces we needed but were not given…spaces for sexual wellness, creative expression, healing and community connection all in one located in Sacramento. Through workshops, community events, healing spaces, and sexual health resources, we center BIQTPOC communities and build access to care, connection, and belonging.
When We Say Sexual Liberation, This is What We Mean
The process of liberating all bodies, sexualities, and relationships from the rigid structures that oppress access to our authentic selves. Sexual liberation is crucial for BIQTPOC because we have historically been subjected to oppression and discrimination based on our sexual orientation, gender identity, and race.
By subjecting our community to laws and cultural norms that have sought to control and stigmatize our sexuality, these systems have attempted to steal our capacity for Joy, Play, and Exploration. We reclaim that power through our three pillars:
Education. Reclaiming Our Agency
Mainstream sexual education often ignores the intersection of race and identity, leaving BIQTPOC folks with gaps in their own care. Studies show that less than 10% of LGBTQ+ students of color report receiving sex education that is inclusive of both their sexual orientation and their ethnic background.
Healing. From Trauma to Pleasure
The intersection of racism and heterosexism creates a "Minority Stress" that takes a physical toll on our bodies. BIQTPOC individuals experience 2x the rate of psychological distress compared to their white LGBTQ+ counterparts due to systemic exclusion.
Creativity. The Radical Act of Play
For us, Creativity is the engine of liberation. When we play, we imagine new ways of relating that aren't defined by "rigid structures." Research on "Positive Identity Development" shows that engaging in creative, community-based "play" can reduce the risk of depression by up to 30% in queer youth of color.
What We Do

Needs
To continue expanding this vital work, we are seeking $2,000 this Big Day of Giving to sustain and grow our programming. Your support will enable us to:
Expand Creative Workshops ($500): Fostering play, expression, and liberation through art, writing, and performance. Your gift of $25–$50 provides the materials and instruments needed for a community member to create without barriers.
Offer Accessible Education ($500): Creating affirming environments where individuals can explore identity, sexual health, and self-awareness. A $150 donation honors the labor of a BIQTPOC educator to lead a specialized session.
Deepen Community Healing ($600): Facilitating trauma-informed practices such as healing circles, somatic therapy, and yoga. An investment of $75 secures a safe, physical sanctuary for one hour of collective healing.
Sustain the Collective ($400): Ensuring our team has the administrative support and supplies necessary to keep our day-to-day operations running and our resources free for the community.
An investment in Love Liberated is an investment in healing, empowerment, and the collective freedom of BIQTPOC individuals. With your partnership, we can continue building a world where our community not only survives, but thrives.
