 Brief History

The Lincoln Area Archives began in 1993 by area historians Jerry Logan, Wes Freeman and Don Logan, to preserve Lincoln area's rich history.  In 2010 the Museum was founded as part of the Archives.  The Archives was housed in the basement of the Lincoln Carnegie Library for many years.  In January 2011 the City of Lincoln allowed LAAM to occupy the first floor of the old City Hall on Beermann Plaza, in the center of historic downtown Lincoln.  Its continued success and growth is a result of the outstanding support from the local community.

The museum presently houses thousands of artifacts and historical photos.

Each year the museum welcomes thousands of visitors as well as being a regular "field trip" for our local grammar schools.

"Lincoln Area Archives Museum is responsible for the acquisition, preservation, interpretation, and exhibition of artifacts and exhibition of artifacts and information reflecting the cultural heritage of the City of Lincoln, California and the surrounding area."
