From Crisis to Safety

Join us on our mission to create housing to empower the future of families.

Early Day of Giving begins April 18th, 2024 - May 2nd, 2024!

With the help of Lao Family Community Development, 550 Families have secured and been placed into Permanent Housing in 2023! Annually, we provide case management, assistance, and transform the lives of 131,000+ youth, adults, and families in Alameda, Contra Costa, Yolo, and Sacramento Counties while providing service in 35 languages across 40 nationalities.

Money you donate will be used to help families, children, individuals and students, restore health + wellness in our communities, eradicate homelessness, and create partnerships to develop CARE Campuses throughout California.

Assisting our Community by providing services including:

1. Services for Family Strengthening and Support
2. Temporary Housing, with a Pathway to Permanent Housing
3. Adult Workforce, Jobs, Technical Careers and Education Programs
4. Youth Career Preparation, Work-Based Learning and Higher Education
5. Earned Income, Asset and Credit Development, and Financial Education

Mission

To advance the health and wellbeing, housing and economic mobility of diverse communities, especially those who are vulnerable.

Needs

1. We're committed to delivering essential programs and services to our community, ensuring everyone has access to vital resources.

2. Professional attire sets a serious tone for job interviews. Donating new or gently used items like shoes, blouses, suits, and more greatly assists our job seekers in securing employment.

3. Families moving into their own spaces require significant assistance with acquiring essential household items.

4. Youth and Adult workshops focusing on job readiness, labor market training, exposure to career pathways, peer support, mentoring, job shadowing, career exposure, apprenticeship access, and work-based learning and training.

5. The cost of transportation for our families to and from appointments, interviews, and work can be challenging to meet. Donations of gift cards for gas, Uber, Lyft, or bus passes can help offset this cost.
