The Kiwanis Club of Folsom Lake are an eclectic mix of ages, genders, occupations, backgrounds and interests. We are all passionate about making our community and the country a better place for children so they can thrive. We are devoted to serving the children in our local community and also children all across the country through unique and innovative service projects and fundraising initiatives.
As a club we have proudly partnered with local organizations such as Folsom/Cordova School District, the City of Folsom, Folsom Chamber of Commerce, Folsom's HOPE, Powerhouse Ministries, Twin Lakes Foodbank to name a few, to local Eagle Scouts and their projects.
Kiwanis Clubs everywhere serve three areas of community engagement...
* We raise and distribute funds to community service projects that better the community.
* We put our backs into these projects as volunteers.
* We foster the next generation of leaders through school-based Kiwanis clubs, Key Clubs (Service Leadership Program).
The Kiwanis Club of Folsom Lake members stage many service projects amounting to thousands of hours of service a year. Each year we raise money to be distributed throughout the community, to fund projects in schools and that serve families. We have helped build playgrounds, restocked libraries, supplied food pantries, supported after school programs in elementary and middle schools, provided coats and backpacks, even maintained hiking trails.
We build the next generation of leaders through a Service Leadership Program (SLP) with Key Club at 3 local high schools. These clubs contribute hundreds of hours of community service projects the students learn to organize and complete each year. Key Club is the world's oldest and largest student-led service organization for high school students that encourages leadership development through service to others.
