The Interfaith Council of Greater Sacramento, incorporated in 1911 as the Federation of Churches, serves greater Sacramento by recognizing that the entire faith community can work together to foster greater understanding and respect among people of different faiths, and to discover that together we can make a difference in the areas where we share common ground and purpose.

To sponsor, promote and coordinate programs for the basic human needs of our community

To improve and enhance interfaith communication and dialogue,

The purposes of ICGS are to promote understanding, dialogue and communication among the various communities of faith, and between these and the community-at-large to promote and coordinate the cooperative efforts and activities of the faith community. Therefore we seek to maintain representation of diverse religious traditions on our board of directors.
The officers, directors, committee members, staff, volunteers and clients of this corporation shall be selected and served without regard to age, sex, religion, national origin or disability.
