The Healing Arts Project is fiscally sponsored by the non-profits Yolo Arts, based in Yolo County, in California.
The Healing Arts Project (HAP) is a collaborative initiative that explores local and global art as a medium for healing in community. While the artwork and reflections are shared online to ensure widespread accessibility, HAP was also imagined as a treasure hunt for 'healing' artworks that would be displayed in the windows of participating businesses in downtown districts, and in any participating neighborhoods.
HAP promotes art as a companion to the healing journey, and subsequently promote mental healthcare. HAP is a platform for healing that uniquely brings together community members, public servants, educators and businesses.
The Interactive Healing Arts Project mission is to promote appreciation for the arts and for mental wellness, and to provide resources for easier access to them while building connections with each other.
We are aiming to raise $10,000 during the Big Day of Giving, to contribute towards bringing the Healing Arts Project to Yolo County after-school programs, especially in rural areas.
The Healing Arts Project serves and brings together community members of all socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds in a movement of solidarity, and is accessible to all, virtually or in-person via exhibits in local stores and gallery; its virtual and in-person components enable a safe participation for community members who are differently abled or unable to safely leave their house to enjoy the project.
