iSound started its foundation off building youth to become a beacon of hope and light in the community; we have been able to achieve this by giving them a safe space learning performing arts to showing them how to prepare for the workforce.

On Feb 22, 2015, 20-year-old old James Jackson Jr., was shot and killed in a random drive-by shooting. This inspired CEO James Jackson Sr., Inspiration Artist, to relocate back to the city of Sacramento to support the youth in the community by turning this tragedy into triumph through birthing the iSound Performing Community Arts Development, Inc. the year 2018.

Our mission is to enhance the talents and life skills of the youth. We provide alternative and positive activities such as our performing arts program that had classes such as Piano, drums, guitar, dance, studio production and vocal training that Then we have our life skill program that deals with gang suppression, bullying and suicide prevention.  These programs help will deter negative thinking throughout the greater Sacramento area.

By providing alternative activities and fostering a supportive environment, We are actively working to prevent youth involvement in negative behaviors like gang activity, bullying, and community violence.

Needs

Since opening our doors in 2019, iSound has remained committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inspiring space for youth in our community. We empower young people to explore their interests, unlock their potential, and develop talents in music, arts, dance, and more—while also equipping them with vital life skills and emotional support.

As our program has grown from serving just 50 youth to now over 140 each month, so have our needs. To continue providing high-quality programming, we are seeking support for essential resources, including:

Musical instruments and studio equipment

Tablets and educational tools

Chairs and supplies for group sessions

A T-shirt printing machine to support our youth entrepreneurship program

Increased venue rental funding to accommodate our expanding groups

Most importantly: mental health resources and support services

Your contribution can make a direct impact on the lives of youth who are navigating real-life challenges—from poverty and violence to substance abuse and emotional trauma.

Please consider becoming a supporter today. With your help, we can continue to provide a space where our youth feel heard, valued, and inspired to thrive.
