I Am Sac Foundation Inc

A nonprofit organization

The I Am Stephon Alonzo Clark (I Am Sac) Foundation is a Sacramento based nonprofit dedicated to healing, justice, and community empowerment for families and youth impacted by violence and traumatic loss. Founded in honor of Stephon Clark, our work transforms grief into action by providing trauma informed healing programs, youth development initiatives, and community driven solutions rooted in dignity, equity, and care.

At the heart of our mission is Stephon's House, a safe and supportive space where healing, connection, and restoration can take place. Through our flagship programs, Healing with Mama Clark and Siblings Overcoming Sadness, we provide culturally responsive grief support for mothers and siblings who have lost loved ones to violence. These programs offer structured healing curricula, peer support, mental wellness resources, and pathways to resilience. Each year, participants are honored during graduation ceremonies that recognize their strength, growth, and commitment to healing.

Our work extends beyond direct services. I Am SAC engages the community through youth empowerment, leadership development, and community engagement initiatives that center DEI, equity in access to resources, and restorative practices. We create safe spaces for youth to process trauma, build confidence, and develop the skills needed to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Each year, we host the Stephon Clark Legacy Weekend, a multi day community gathering that uplifts Stephon's life and legacy through healing centered programming, graduation ceremonies for our healing programs, community play dates, wellness activities, arts and culture, and opportunities for collective remembrance and action. The Legacy Weekend serves as a powerful space for families, youth, partners, and supporters to come together in solidarity and hope.

Your support fuels real impact. Donations and sponsorships directly expand access to healing services, strengthen youth empowerment efforts, sustain Stephon's House as a community resource, and allow us to serve more families with compassion and consistency. By investing in I Am SAC, you are investing in healing, equity, and a future where families and young people are supported, seen, and empowered to rise beyond trauma.

Together, we are building pathways from pain to purpose and ensuring Stephon's  legacy lives on through healing, hope, and community transformation.

Mission

IAMSAC is a movement unified by social, transformative and restorative justice. Our ultimate goal is to maintain “Stephon’s House,” a resource and recreational center, museum and library dedicated to the life and ongoing legacy of Stephon Clark. We empower underrepresented, underserved, underdeveloped at-risk communities by providing resources, recreational, educational, and social

networks.

Needs

Donations provide program and event supplies needed for our healing circles, youth empowerment activities, workshops, and community events. This includes materials for wellness activities, art therapy, curriculum resources, meals and refreshments, transportation support, space setup, and accessibility accommodations that ensure families and youth can participate with dignity and comfort.

In addition, funding helps meet the immediate needs of families and youth who are navigating grief and trauma. This includes basic support such as food during program sessions and events, travel assistance, program materials for youth, self care and healing kits, and resources that remove barriers to participation. For many families, these supports are the difference between being able to engage in healing services or having to go without.

Equity Statement

I Am Sac Foundation is committed to equity, dignity, and justice for all people, with a deep focus on communities that have been historically harmed, marginalized, and underserved. Our work is grounded in the belief that healing, safety, and opportunity are rights, not privileges.

We center the lived experiences of families and youth impacted by violence, trauma, and systemic inequities. Our programs are intentionally designed to be trauma informed, culturally responsive, and accessible, recognizing that race, class, gender, age, and neighborhood conditions shape how people experience grief, loss, and pathways to healing. We work to remove barriers to participation by addressing access, affordability, transportation, and emotional safety.

We are committed to advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion not only in our programs, but within our organizational practices, partnerships, and leadership. We strive to build authentic relationships with community members, service providers, and institutions to ensure our work reflects the voices and needs of those most impacted.

Equity, for us, means investing in healing spaces that honor humanity, restoring trust where harm has occurred, and creating pathways for youth and families to thrive with dignity, support, and opportunity. We remain accountable to our community and committed to continuous learning, reflection, and action in pursuit of a more just and compassionate future.
