Needs
Low-Cost Counseling to Community:
- HOPE strives to provide affordable and low-cost counseling to the communities we serve. HOPE Counseling Center serves individuals, couples, families, children or groups wherein interpersonal relationships are examined for the purpose of achieving more adequate, satisfying, and productive lives. HOPE Counseling Center is dedicated to serving the hard to reach and underserved through provision of quality mental health services that are sensitive to the cultures, lifestyles, and personal identities of a diverse client population.
- Providing fees at $40 per session provides counseling at 1/3 to 1/4 of the fees typically found in the greater Sacramento region ($120-$160). Through fundraising and donations we are able to offer even lower fees under our normal lowest fee for those on restricted incomes. Thanks for considering to give to HOPE Counseling Center so we can continue to provide counseling.
Staff Development/Training:
- Hope Counseling Center offers psychotherapy training to qualified mental health professionals who are pursuing clinical licensure with the Board of Behavioral Sciences in the state of California and advanced training opportunities for licensed professionals. The clinical supervision program is designed to evaluate and enhance competency levels in clinical knowledge, skills, and judgment, while offering clinical supervision by qualified Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFTs) and Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs) to prepare associates (ASWs or AMFTs), and trainees for their profession. We seek to train them beyond that they've learned in school, providing additional training in empirically-based therapies. Your donation helps us provide these trainings to staff to make it more affordable to them as they seek to become better therapists on their road to licensure.
IT equipment and/or support:
- As our technology advances change so do our needs. We want to offer our consumers access to services that meet their needs. We do this by understanding how our services are meeting the needs of the community or not. Empirical data that comes from clients themselves will guide us in knowing how to expand or change our way of delivery. One way of achieving this outcome is to have portable iPads that clients can use to fill out surveys that tell us exactly how we might improve our services. These iPads also allow us to schedule, bill, and access records more efficiently.
- IT support is expensive. As we grow our social media presence we need to understand the platforms we are using or hope to use. Having someone accessible as an independent contractor or employee with knowledge of social media and internet protections would be very helpful.
When offering therapy to the community it is important to feel you are walking into a professional office that embraces all cultures, beliefs, and needs. We do this by setting up office space with comfortable and inviting rooms where consumers can trust they are receiving the highest professional care that includes, confidentiality, comfort, professionalism, privacy, and a pleasing atmosphere. Many of our rooms have furniture that is 6-8 years old. We are always in need of money or furniture that supports the above office description.
We have a lobby that is too small during peak hours of operation and sometimes our clients have to stand outside in the hallway of our office. We are in need of carpentry, painting, and architect work to allow more space for clients while they are waiting for their clinician.
