Hearts 4 Heroes USA is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the mental health and wellness of firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, law enforcement, and first responders nationwide. Founded by first responders for first responders, we understand the emotional toll that repeated exposure to trauma, tragedy, and high-stress incidents can have on those who serve our communities every day.

Rates of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and compassion fatigue among first responders continue to rise. These brave men and women face unimaginable situations while continuing to answer the call for help. Hearts 4 Heroes USA is committed to ensuring they never face those challenges alone.

Through our Paw Platoon Placement Program, we place specially trained therapy, comfort, and crisis canines within fire departments, EMS agencies, and law enforcement organizations to provide emotional support, stress relief, crisis response, and wellness assistance for first responders and the communities they serve. These canine companions play a critical role in promoting resilience, healing, and peer support during difficult times.

Our program fully funds veterinary care, training, equipment, and essential supplies for every canine placed, ensuring departments never have to worry about the financial burden of providing these important wellness resources. Each canine team and handler undergoes extensive training to ensure the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and effectiveness.

At Hearts 4 Heroes USA, we proudly stand beside the heroes who dedicate their lives to protecting others. Through fundraising, volunteerism, wellness initiatives, and canine-assisted support programs, we work tirelessly to make a lasting impact on the mental health and well-being of our first responder community.

Thank you for “Being a hero to our heroes.”
