$1,000 Goal

At Health Access, we recognize that California’s diverse communities have distinct needs and issues. As a team, we work tirelessly to slow the rate of growth of overall health care costs, slow the rate of growth in overall costs, and work to ensure that once a healthcare legislation is passed and signed into law, that it is properly implemented to protect healthcare consumers.

In 2011, Health Access and The California LGBTQ HHS Network joined forces in the fight for quality, affordable, equitable healthcare for all Californians despite your age, color, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation. Since then, our partnership has made strides in expanding the number Network staff from one part-time person to 5 full time employees, expanded programming to include mental health and TGI advocacy, holding systems accountable with implementing of SOGI data collection, staff is engaged in state-level health equity advocacy within various departments such as DMHC, DHCS, etc., and more. Your donation will help us continue to fight to improve and expand our healthcare system, while also holding the industry accountable keeping prices affordable and care equitable.

Equity Statement

Health Access’ mission is based on universality and inclusion - and a commitment to ensure California’s health care systems work for *all* Californians. This goal demands justice and equity, as a guidepost for the work we do and how we strive to do it. To that end, Health Access’s commitment to dismantling discrimination, racism, patriarchy, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, and all forms of oppression must be embedded within our own organization. Embracing the diversity of our teams and a culture of inclusion makes us stronger. We strive to create an environment where we can all bring our full, authentic selves to work and all employees feel safe, valued, and empowered.
