$10,000 Goal

Like many others, we are a volunteer-run organization. Our mission is to work with dogs to who are deemed unadoptable from local shelters and help them prepare to join a new family. We pull these dogs from the local shelters and vets, and work with them until they are ready to transition. Sometimes it takes a few days, sometimes it takes years, depending on the trauma.

Oscar, adopted from HDROur adoption fees help us pay our veterinarian bills, but we rely on donations from dog lovers and philanthropic people like you to really keep us going. Our goal with every dog is to find the perfect family match so that they are lovingly cared for the rest of their lives. Please consider making a donation today to assist our efforts and save more dogs in the greater Sacramento area!

2023 was a difficult year for us, but we made it through! After many months of not being able to fundraise via Facebook, we got Meta to fix the issue and are hitting the ground running. Currently, we have multiple special needs dogs that require specialized care and qualified adopters. This is why this fundraiser is so important for us right now. If you can donate, please know your funds are always spent on needy dogs who just need a good, loving home.

This year we have also been able to offer assistance paying vet bills for preventative and emergency care, and end of life expenses. We hope to continue to be able to do this where we can.

We had some heartbreaks this year too. Our dear friend and longtime volunteer Nina Distler passed away. Nina was a dedicated friend of animals and volunteered many hours to our dogs over the course of about 6 years. She is missed by all of us. If you would like to make a donation in Nina's memory, we will share that with her family.

Nina Distler, long-time Volunteer

Follow us on Facebook or Instagram and share our fundraisers to help us rehabilitate and find homes for dogs from local shelters.

And a special thanks to all of you who volunteer your time with us. This rescue is lost without your willingness to be available. If you would like to know more about becoming a volunteer, please reach out or fill out the form on our website.

Giving Activity

Mission

We intend to make an impact on the number of dogs euthanized each year for their lack of adoptability. We hope to give the dogs time and training needed, along with vet care and social skills, and then begin searching for families that are willing to work with and help these dogs move forward into more permanent homes. We do adoption events regularly and home checks are conducted before a dog is placed in a new home. Our volunteer base has dropped off considerably and we are looking for new foster families.

Needs

We need help reclaiming our Facebook page and we will likely need a solid Social media manager if we get the page back. If we don't, we will need to reevaluate our strategy. This situation has made us very cautious when using social media now and what was a run of the mill task before, now causes us, major anxiety.

We need training for fearful animals and socialization. Activity that will help us grow the rescue into a more diverse and knowledgeable charity.

We have a huge need for devoted people to assist us with the ongoing help and admin duties, of the rescue. foster families are another resource we desperately need.

Vet bills are a huge expense to us each year.

Funding for vetting, equipment, training.

Assistance for seniors and needy folks in the area for end-of-life arrangements for their pets.

Advertising and training for new families that wish to provide services as a foster.

Education and assistance for our transporters is also needed.
