Grieving Hearts - for Mothers by Mothers

Grieving Hearts is a peer-based, volunteer-run nonprofit providing urgently needed no-cost support to mothers after they lose a child.

Founded by two bereaved mothers, including a psychotherapist and Doctor of Psychology experienced in grief and trauma, we provide the kind of care and connection we could not find elsewhere.

Grieving Hearts exists because a mother’s particular needs after child loss are not always fully seen, understood, or supported.

The need is urgent and significant. The death of a child changes everything. It reaches into a mother’s body, identity, relationships, and sense of safety. Many mothers feel deeply alone, even when surrounded by people who love them.

A mother’s grief is often accompanied by trauma. Without compassionate care, mothers face isolation, health challenges, relationship strain, lost income, and profound impacts on the surviving children and families.
