The Folsom Railroad Museum is located in a vintage railroad passenger car located in Historic Folsom on the railroad block between two historic railroad depots, the Folsom Railroad Depot and the Ashland Freight Depot, and compliment the 1850's gallows style turntable on site. Your donations help keep the volunteers, the Museum, and Rail History alive for the community and visitors.
The FEDSHRA organization is currently looking into the renovation of the Southern Pacific Supervisors house currently located in the Folsom Railroad wye trackage. The Southern Pacific Railroad Section Superintendent House was listed on the NRHP on June 13, 2008, under National Park Service (NPS) Number 08000501. This designation recognizes its significance as an example of company-provided housing for railroad section superintendents, a key role in the railroad hierarchy during the early 20th century.
Working with the City of Folsom and others, we will need funds and contractors to accomplish this project. If this is something you may be interested in, please contact us! Currently about $60,000 is needed to elevate the house, repair and install a new foundation. Roofing replacement will take place after the foundation to be able to safely secure the house from any weather damage.
Our annual Folsom Handcar Derby, www.HandcarDerby.com, has reached an end of an era. Most of those volunteers for the Handcar Derby enjoyed coming back each year for the event, some for over 30 years. Future limited edition races and events are in the future.

Volunteers are needed that can help at the Folsom Railroad Museum, weekends, to keep our local railroad history a part of their community and to pass along that history to younger rail enthusiasts. Training is supplied to those new to the regional rail history.
