The mission of Elk Grove Animal Shelter Neonatal Kitten Care is to support the Elk Grove Animal Shelter's neonatal kitten foster program with foster recruitment, training, supplies, and mentoring. We exist to assist the shelter with rescuing, nurturing, and protecting the most vulnerable felines--newborn kittens.  We are dedicated to ensuring that every kitten has a safe place to grow, experience love, and receive the care they need to thrive. While the journey of caring for neonatal kittens can be challenging, it is also deeply rewarding. Without the help of many, these fragile lives would not survive.  Together with the shelter and their neonatal kitten fosters, through compassion, education, and unwavering dedication, we know we can make a difference---one kitten at a time.

Equity Statement

Our EGAS Neonatal Kitten Care nonprofit believes that every kitten deserves a chance to thrive, regardless of their origin or the resources available at the time of rescue. We are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community of caregivers, recognizing that "bottle babies" reed round-the-clock care that crosses all social, economic, and neighborhood boundaries.

We believe in empowering anyone with a desire to help by providing the necessary training, supplies and support needed. Our commitment to equity means ensuring that financial, physical, or social barriers do not prevent a person from volunteering to prevent a fragile kitten from receiving life-saving care.
