For over two years now, district leadership along with key community leaders have worked to develop the EGUSD FIRST Foundation to support the students and teachers within the Elk Grove Unified School District by raising funds to fill gaps in resources and opportunities to ensure equitable experiences and outcomes for all students, and especially for those in our most vulnerable communities. Elk Grove Unified School District is the largest school district in Northern California serving a vastly diverse population of over 63,000 students with more than 100 different languages spoken. The needs of our students and teachers is just as vast and diverse, so the support of a Foundation makes sense!

Giving Activity

Mission

The EGUSD FIRST Foundation is a 501(c)(3) education nonprofit organization created to support students and teachers in the Elk Grove Unified School District by raising funds to fill in resource and opportunity gaps through innovative approaches, commitment to the success of all students, collaboration with community partners, engaging the community at large, and exercising good stewardship over all resources. We aim to intentionally support our most vulnerable communities to ensure they have what the resources needed to achieve success.

Needs

The Elk Grove Unified School District (EGUSD) FIRST Foundation is committed to enriching the educational experiences of students within our community. Our Educator Grant program is the cornerstone of this belief, empowering teachers to transform their classrooms and ignite a passion for learning in their students. This document outlines the compelling case for supporting these grants and the positive outcomes they generate for our students.

The Need for Educator Grants

Public education funding often provides for basic needs, but it rarely covers the cost of creative, cutting-edge initiatives. Educator Grants fill this gap, enabling teachers to bring their visions to life and provide students with unique learning opportunities. These grants foster a dynamic learning environment, encourage critical thinking, and inspire a lifelong love of learning.

Equity Statement

Envisioning a system without barriers and in which all students’ needs are met, we asked ourselves, What If? Then we started the legacy building journey that is EGUSD FIRST Foundation!
