With your help, we will change the world for the better
E Train Talks, Inc., qualifies as a minority-run organization because it is founded and led by a 14-year-old, which represents a significant age-based minority in leadership and entrepreneurship. Young people, especially those under 18, are rarely seen in executive or decision-making roles, particularly in the nonprofit sector. Despite their passion and capability, youth are often excluded from funding and leadership opportunities due to their age. We believe our organization brings a unique perspective to community needs, especially those affecting young people directly. I hope my age-based minority status will add some valuable needed diversity to the nonprofit landscape, fostering innovation, representation, and a deeper connection to the communities we serve.
E Train Talks primarily serves children in the Sacramento Region, aiming to help early learners reach grade-level reading proficiency, as well as inspire a passion for reading. E Train focus on children and families in need, including those in Promise Zone areas, Title One Schools, and economically disadvantaged communities. We also serve Title One classrooms in Yuba County. Our literacy reach is growing each year.
