E Train Talks, Inc., is a 501©(3) charitable nonprofit committed to celebrating early literacy and inspiring a lifelong love of reading in children of all ages. Through engaging interviews with children's authors, book reviews, school visits, and literacy-focused events, E Train sparks curiosity and encourages children to discover the magic of reading. By championing diverse voices and stories, E Train not only supports language development and comprehension skills but also helps children build empathy, confidence, and a strong educational foundation

With your help, we will change the world for the better

E Train Talks, Inc., qualifies as a minority-run organization because it is founded and led by a 14-year-old, which represents a significant age-based minority in leadership and entrepreneurship. Young people, especially those under 18, are rarely seen in executive or decision-making roles, particularly in the nonprofit sector. Despite their passion and capability, youth are often excluded from funding and leadership opportunities due to their age. We believe our organization brings a unique perspective to community needs, especially those affecting young people directly. I hope my age-based minority status will add some valuable needed diversity to the nonprofit landscape, fostering innovation, representation, and a deeper connection to the communities we serve.

E Train Talks primarily serves children in the Sacramento Region, aiming to help early learners reach grade-level reading proficiency, as well as inspire a passion for reading. E Train focus on children and families in need, including those in Promise Zone areas, Title One Schools, and economically disadvantaged communities. We also serve Title One classrooms in Yuba County. Our literacy reach is growing each year.

Giving Activity

Mission

E Train Talks, Inc. envisions a world where every child has access to books and the opportunity to discover the magic of reading. Through literacy outreach, classroom visits, and book donations, we’re building brighter futures, one story at a time.

Needs

E Trian Talks is 100% volunteer driven. Founded by Ethan, a 14-year-old literacy advocate who donates his time visiting classrooms and literacy events giving books to children in underserved communities and inspiring kids to read. We are always in need of new book donations, funds & gift cards to purchase picture books, middle-grade stories and YA books to give to underserved schools, libraries and children in need. We love receiving First Book & Scholastic gift cards! Every dollar given will to directly to buying new and diverse stories to give kids.

Equity Statement

E Train Talks, Inc. believes that ALL CHILDREN deserve the opportunity to experience reading joy! E Train visits schools and gives diverse books to kids in Title One Schools, low-income communities, unhoused kids, and to children who need them most. Sharing diverse books offers kids the chance to see themselves in the stories they read, and makes a lasting positive impact on their lives. E Train Talks celebrates all kids by giving books that represent everybody, because EVERY child deserves to see themselves in a book!
