$15,000 Goal

Many refugees from countries such as Afghanistan, Syria, and Ukraine have experienced war and trauma and desperately need hope, especially the youth.  Sacramento is the #1 refugee resettlement city in the U.S., and many have come here to find this hope. CCA offers it through athletic opportunities in a supportive community, leading to lasting friendships and a sense of family.

CCA envisions refugee youth being welcomed into communities where they feel at home and are fully accepted by their American neighbors. We anticipate long-term impact of coaches who are mentoring players on fields, in cars, and over cups of tea in homes where they are communicating to players that they are loved, they belong, and that they can live a life filled with hope.

Mission

CCA uses sport to create a welcoming community and place of belonging for our neighbors from around the world and across the street as we play, coach, cheer and volunteer.

Needs

unrestricted funds (to subsidize costs for low-income players), coaches, soccer & cricket equipment (in-kind donations), 2 additional board members

Equity Statement

At CCA, we believe every person is created with inherent dignity, value, and made in God's image. We are committed to fostering a community where individuals and families from all backgrounds, regardless of nationality, ethnicity, language, gender, age, or socioeconomic circumstance, are welcomed, respected, and given equitable access to opportunity.

Because many of those we serve have experienced displacement, trauma, and systemic barriers, we intentionally work to remove obstacles that limit participation and belonging. We strive to create programs, partnerships, and spaces that reflect fairness, cultural humility, and mutual respect.
