The Cancer Metastases Research Fund (CMRF), a 501 (c)3 nonprofit, was founded in 2022 to support studies on the development and spread of cancer. Our approach is designed to hinder the mechanisms that lead to cancer spread (metastases) and, perhaps, even its very formation. In 2014, Drs. Bjorn Brücher, MD, PhD
and Ijaz Jamall, PhD published a new paradigm on how cancers originate. This was followed by an additional 16 peer-reviewed papers that explain in detail how most solid cancers originate and how the first cancer cell takes hold. Applying these concepts will help to prevent cancer growth and impede, block, or reverse the spread (metastases) of most solid cancers. Patients typically do not die from their primary cancer but rather from its spread to distant organs. Therefore, preventing the spread of cancers will prevent deaths from this disease. Studies on cancers in large populations ('cancer epidemiology') show a decline in the number of new cancers from decreases in cigarette smoking and from early screening (e.g., breast and prostate cancers), but no substantial decrease in the overall rate of cancer deaths over the past 50+ years.
Drs. Brucher and Jamall are Fellows of the Theodor-Billroth Academy, its International Consortium of Research Excellence (INCORE), and members of the European Academy of Science and Arts. In addition, Dr. Jamall is a Life Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (UK). To learn more about their educational and research background, please visit
Our goal is not just to “buy time” for cancer patients, but to develop affordable therapies that will make the scourge of cancer and its spread a thing of the past.
Imagine a world without cancer!

Mission
To transform cancer treatment from the current symptom-oriented approach to a cause-based approach by developing cost-effective therapies to substantially improve the lifespan of patients with cancer while preserving their quality of life.
Needs
Our goal is to raise $5,000,000 to fund our cancer research including, but not limited to, clinical trials.
Equity Statement
The CMRF is dedicated to cultivating an environment in which all voices are heard as we serve, engage, advocate for, and empower people with cancer.
