Since 1971, the California Police Activities League (California PAL) has had the privilege of serving nearly half a million youth and their families throughout California.  We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working to foster positive relationships and build bonds between youth and police officers.  Read our history here.

A membership-based organization, California PAL provides mentorship, athletic, recreational, enrichment and educational opportunities and resources to Police Activities League (PAL), Sheriff Activities League (SAL) and Youth Activities League (YAL) member chapters in California.

Giving Activity

Mission

The California PAL mission is to unite law enforcement and communities by providing educational, athletic and life enriching youth programs that develop discipline, positive self-image, mutual trust and respect.

Each PAL member chapter is operated by law enforcement officers who network within their respective communities to create collaborative relationships with youth.

Needs

California PAL is uniquely situated to bring communities together to listen, heal, strengthen bonds, and change behaviors to create safe and healthy communities.

We are committed to:

Promoting the health, well-being and future success of youth and officers. We aim to promote equity for marginalized youth by reducing barriers to education, health and wellness, wealth and living wage jobs.

Preventing vulnerable and underserved youth from entering the juvenile justice system by offering educational, athletic and enrichment programs.

Protecting communities by building mutual trust, respect and bonds between officers and youth.

California PAL is a non-profit organization which receives no local government or state funding. We depend on the freely given gifts of donors to help at-promise youth get the start in life they deserve and to help them continue along a healthy challenging path that leads to productive lives as adults.

Our focus is on programs for at-promise youth who often don’t have any other resources to keep them in a safe and supervised environment.

Equity Statement

California PAL is working to address the existing inequities and social injustice facing youth that exists in many of California's communities. These youth need and deserve opportunities, support and dedicated resources enabling them to lead safe, productive, successful and happy lives while becoming positive, contributing members of society.
