Brunos Foundation

Reviewed by the Sacramento Region Community Foundation

Brunos Foundation started in 2020, after the passing of our namesake, Bruno.

In 2008, Bruno was adopted from an animal shelter by Kristina, the founder, and he was her best friend for 11 very short years. She has been a foster mom, volunteer, and an animal/rescue advocate for over 20 years with rescues from California all the way to Montana.  With Bruno’s passing, she was prompted to want to do more, especially for the bully breeds.

Brunos Foundation was created in his honor and while we are still small, we have saved hundreds of dogs (bully breeds and others) from being euthanized and placed them into loving forever homes.

Our volunteer base is growing, available foster homes for at risk dogs are growing, and with that grows the never ending list of needs to house so many dogs. We rely on these donations to keep our doors open, our dogs safe, and our hearts full.

Mission

Our mission is to promote compassion and humane treatment for all animals by offering a safe haven for abandoned, abused, and neglected animals. We focus primarily on pit bulls and pit bull mixes, although others tend to fall through the cracks as well.

Needs

As our rescue grows and we are able to save more lives, our needs list grows as well.

Food, vet bills, toys, crates, blankets, beds, enrichment toys, leashes/collars/ID tags, puppy pads, puppy formula.. this is just a short list of some of the things needed to help our dogs. Your monetary donation will go towards providing all of these things, or you can check out our wishlists to help!
