$105,000 Goal

Borne to Create partnered with Mosaic School of Integrated Arts, a holistic, arts-focused organization that provides in-school, after-school, and off-campus instruction to at-risk, underprivileged youth. We actively engage students by creating ways to imagine, collaborate and innovate. We offer multiple opportunities for students to develop diverse skills through active learning, dance, music, media arts, theatre, and visual art instruction.

Borne to Create was established by its founder and current Chief Executive Officer, Malaika Osborne. Throughout the years, Malaika met hundreds of children with unique talents for singing, dancing, theatre, music, visual arts, etc., but lacked resources, support, and opportunities to develop their skills and abilities further. Due to the said hindrances, children from underserved communities are more likely to give up their dreams and live a life of mediocrity or even of crime or vice. Malaika watched these children, whose dreams never left their neighborhood, be swallowed up by the streets. Hence, she created Borne to Create to provide professional and specialized training classes in performing and visual arts to underserved and at-risk youth. These services are provided under the organization’s primary program called BTC Workshop.
