$50,000 Goal

We are changing our reality by bringing Black artists front and center. Black Artist Foundry challenges systemic barriers by elevating Black culture and providing resources to sustain creative careers.

Born in Sacramento, created by Black artists, patrons of the arts, and grassroots fundraising, we have grown. We will continue to expand our local arts community, and welcome interested neighbors to join our mission and benefit from our partnership. As we secure more funding and expand our ability to reach more artists, we will always look to provide space for Black artists to connect and produce art.

We were founded by leaders with bold visions. We are either artists ourselves, work in the industry, or intimately know other Black artists. We see the obstacles and lack of access Black artists face when pursuing a career in the arts. Black Artist Foundry was created initially to fund artists, but we are building on this foundation to be so much more.

We are dismantling historical barriers to representation in the arts community. Supporting Black artists throughout their careers is a core principle of our work. We use our voices to amplify their art and celebrate their stories. We provide funds, space, and resources for Black artists to cultivate a community and inspire connectivity.
