The Bereavement Network (BNRS) was founded 40 years ago by volunteers who felt the need to create a community of help for people who have suffered the loss of a loved one. BNRS has made a strong contribution to the massive growth in bereavement care in our 4-county region. Our current services include:
- Annual Publication of an updated Community Bereavement Resource Directory. The Directory includes only free services that are available to anyone in the community. The Directory is available as a physical document or a digital one that can be viewed on our website.
- Telephone and Email help line. Our Volunteers direct grieving people to free services in the community, both in person and on-line.
- The BNRS website includes not only our Directory but also a Calendar of local bereavement events, information on grief and loss, and our Affiliates page with additional services for the community.
- The BNRS is co-sponsoring Quarterly Networking and Educational meetings for professionals and volunteers who offer care and support for the bereaved. Our most recent event, in January, 2025, was attended by over 60 persons, representing over a dozen local agencies.
