The Outlaws is organized for the following purposes:

Promoting the health of People, Promoting a sense of self‐confidence and high self‐esteem in People, Promoting and cultivating social intercourse and fellowship among members, Promoting youth involvement in the sport of roller derby, assuring the continued growth of our sport.

Lessening the burden of government through donations to other nonprofit funds, foundations, or corporations that are established as tax exempt under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code and partnering with them for mutual benefit and exposure; and Promoting the sport of Roller Derby in our community by holding classes and practices in a professional manner with a qualified and knowledgeable staff of coaches and trainers.

Mission

The Outlaws are a community based, non-profit, flat track roller derby league. We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for everyone who is interested in this exciting sport.

Needs

Outlaws Roller Derby is looking to support athletes with additional needs and funds for safety gear, skating equipment, uniforms, travel expenses, and a place to practice.

All donations will be used to help serve the community to help promote self-esteem, confidence, integrity, dignity, and most importantly providing a safe and inclusive space.

Outlaws Roller Derby (Outlaws) is a team committed to developing and supporting a robustly diverse, equitable, and inclusive community, where all members create and feel a sense of belonging. Through our collective deliberate efforts, the Outlaws team provides a basis for social justice through the empowerment of all current and potential team members.

HOW OUTLAWS ROLLER DERBY ENACTS ITS COMMITMENT

To create the desired impact, Outlaws Roller Derby:

Champions its members’ individual and team diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts to advance all facets of the team environment.

Embraces and derives value from the variety of views that diverse organizations and individuals bring to achieve inclusive excellence in all that we do.

Implements initiatives that support diversity, equity, and inclusion in all of our collective endeavors as well as creates a supportive learning environment that encompasses communication of diverse perspectives, experiences, and realities.

Makes concerted efforts to conduct outreach and engage individuals representing diversity for leadership roles within the team, participation on committees, and in planned activities.

Establishes inclusive and equitable practices for all its members and draws on their varied strengths and perspectives.

HOW TEAM MEMBERS ENACT THIS COMMITMENT

As Outlaws team members engage individually in the overall development of the team and/or recruitment of new team members, the team’s core values of diversity, equity, and inclusion will be purposefully reflected in the following expectations and actions:

To include individuals and groups that reflect diverse individual values and characteristics.

Outlaws team members are encouraged to support diverse perspectives and ideas by treating others fairly. Members show respect for individual, cultural, and other identity-based differences while valuing and acknowledging unique skills and experiences.

To consciously provide and engage in strategic educational and experiential opportunities to develop diversity, equity, and inclusion competence.

Outlaws team members advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion practices as a competency in the development and implementation of all recruiting and team development opportunities.

Outlaw team members recognize, incorporate, and value diversity as opportunities to learn and gain valuable insights by working together. Members promote open dialogue and active listening to establish inclusion as a staple within the team.
