$17,000 Goal

The Auburn Interfaith Food Closet, Inc. was incorporated in November 1998. Currently, there are 17 sponsoring/affiliated churches who collaborate to operate it. The Food Closet is a demonstration of the belief that we have a moral and spiritual obligation to aid residents of our community who are hungry and in need. The types of food we provide follow the USDA food group guidelines. We remain a totally volunteer organization, with over 200 people donating an average of 110 hours a year. Without having costs of staffing, 96% of our expenditures are returned to the community to support client programs. The AIFC is open Monday - Friday and the last Saturday of the month, from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m..

The Auburn Interfaith Food Closet (AIFC) provides nutritious food to those in need in our service area, preserving their dignity, and encouraging self-reliance.

Donations will be used to purchase food as well as cover building costs, utilities, and other costs of providing food.

We accept donations of non-perishable food items. We also provide fresh fruit/produce from area growers. We accept these donations at our facility in Auburn during our normal operating hours.

Individuals and organizations can volunteer time to help in our operations or organize programs on our behalf.
