Located on a long-abandoned vacant lot, the Art Nursery will bring people of all ages to an innovative public space in the North Sacramento Community. Food trucks, nonprofit meeting spaces, children's events, beer tastings, outdoor movie nights are all envisioned for this spot in the heart of North Sacramento. The Art Nursery has adopted the "lighter, quicker, cheaper" ethos of place-making, with zero net energy and making extensive use of upcycled materials. Volunteers will paint a wrought iron fence, remove debris, and build a simple deck. A community lunch will be served at noon for volunteers, neighbors and anyone curious about the Art Nursery.

Winters Big Day of Giving & Party in the Park! 

Organization: Winters Friends of the Library

Description:  At 4 pm there will be a special performance of Voice in the Wood at the stage at Winters City Park on Main Street at the corner of 4th Street.  Voice of the Wood is an Educational performance group made up of two artists who want to tell stories to children. They braid the stories with sound effects, dramatic narration and masked movement in order to make the stories to come alive and find a place in the hearts and minds of all the children who hear them. This special performance will involve 5th grade students from Shirley Rominger School who benefited from the Artist-in-Residence program funded by WFoL during this school year.

Between 5-8 pm the Party in the Park event, hosted by Project Playground, will have food trucks, beer & wine, kids games, music, and more. This event also will be at Winters City Park on Main Street at the corner of 4th Street.  We also hope to have a large screen projection of the leaderboard at this event!

Between 5-9 pm at the Berryessa Gap Winery Downtown Tasting Room at 15 Main Street will host a Big Day of Giving celebration.  Watch the leaderboard with us and indulge in savory and sweet treats while sipping on a glass of your favorite Berryessa Gap wine.  That night, 10% of all wine sales will go directly to WFoL.
