$3,000 Goal

As Oscar Wilde said, "There is no such thing as being over-educated."  Education is the means by which one attains the tools necessary to live a life of good quality.  COED strives to assist those who have little to no opportunity to advance their education. By doing this we hope to give hope to those who have none.  COED envisions a community that invests in the future by investing in education and people who value and believe the power of education to uplift and advance the future.  As one English philosopher said, "The aim of education is not only knowledge, but action." COED seeks to move people into action to alleviate poverty through education.

Giving Activity

Mission

COED was created to provide financial and professional support to deserving yet underprivileged students who could not otherwise afford higher education. This support will come in the form of a fellowship that includes a scholarship at a college institution, followed by an externship or internship in the chosen field, and a lifetime access to a mentoring network of academics and professionals.

Needs

COED needs funding to provide financial assistance to the scholars.

COED need in-kind donations of used laptop computers and school supplies for the scholars.

COED also needs volunteers to help in our fundraising efforts and also help update our webpage, Facebook, and Twitter pages.

COED needs technology assistance with our webpage, Facebook, and Twitter pages.

Any type of funding, such as opportunities for grants and other donations are welcome.

Equity Statement

COED's mission is to provide financial and professional support to deserving yet underprivileged students who could not otherwise afford higher education. In order to fully realize our mission, we must have a fully engaged empowered team to raise funds for our program and connect with our students in order to help them succeed in their pursuit of higher education.

The COED team views diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) as a critical factor to our program's success and commit to investing, accelerating, reporting and educating on the progress of our own internal DEI efforts.
