$5,000 Goal

Headquartered in Sacramento, the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence (the Partnership) is the federally-recognized domestic violence coalition, representing over 1,000 survivors, advocates, organizations and allied partners across the state. Working at the state and national levels for 40 years, the Partnership has a long track record of successfully passing over 200 pieces of legislation, advocating for federal and state funds, and championing intersecting social justice issues.

The Partnership believes that by sharing expertise, advocates and legislators can prevent and end domestic violence. Through our public policy, communications, prevention, and capacity-building initiatives, we create system-wide change that supports California families impacted by domestic violence, and advance real social change in communities throughout the state. Every day we inspire, inform and connect all those concerned with this issue, because together we're stronger.

Mission

The California Partnership to End Domestic Violence promotes the collective voice of a diverse coalition of organizations and individuals, working to eliminate all forms of domestic violence. As an advocate for social change, we advance our mission by shaping public policy, increasing community awareness, and strengthening our members' capacity to work toward our common goal of advancing the safety and healing of victims, survivors, and their families.

Needs

Unrestricted contributions support the operations of our organization as well as our public policy activities, including advocacy at the Capitol. These funds also help us create quick advocacy communications mobilizing partners all across the state to action. Your donations help support emerging projects that build equity in the Movement to End Domestic Violence:

The Black, Indigenous & Native, and People of Color Preventionists Mentoring project: The Prevention Team will be developing a mentorship project to support Black, Indigenous & Native, and Preventionists of Color. This will be through a dedicated Community of Practice to support the unique challenges of working within oppressive systems.

The Black, Indigenous & Native, and People of Color Leadership Project: The Partnership is in the initial stages of a leadership development project that focuses on Black, Indigenous & Native, and People of Color in Executive Director positions. The purpose is to address the significant challenges when these leaders are at the helm of both mainstream and culturally grounded organizations. Their relationships with their staff, Board of Directors, and larger community often determines whether they are successful or not. Therefore, the Partnership is galvanizing leaders from California and across the country to develop a leadership program to help Black, Indigenous & Native, and Leaders of Color successfully navigate those complicated relationships.

Youth Advisory Committee: The Youth Advisory Committee emerged after Orange Day in 2019, a forum where young people asked legislators about important issues that mattered to them: inclusive and accurate sexual education, support available to youth survivors of sexual assault, and more. The Committee is in its beginning stages, and it will involve youth planning a statewide agenda to engage their peers across the state in service of addressing multiple forms of violence.
