Feed My Starving Children Mobile Pack - Sacramento Region

Feed My Starving Children was founded in 1987 by a Minnesota businessman who witnessed the extreme hunger and poverty of children in Central America. Since 2010, Placer and Sacramento area residents have created and built a network that educates children and adults alike about the global hunger problem - and gives them a hands-on opportunity to be part of the solution. The FMSC MannaPacks were created by scientists at Cargill and General Mills to meet the physical needs of malnourished children. The meal consists of rice, soy, vegetables, a vegetarian-based chicken flavoring, and a vitamin and mineral mix. This original product was developed especially for Feed My Starving Children and has remained FMSC's product formula until this day.

Mission

The approach is simple: Children and adults hand-pack meals designed specially for starving children, and Feed My Starving Children ships the meals to nearly 70 countries around the world. Over seven years, Sacramento area residents have packed more than 4.8 million meals with more than 16,000 volunteers.
