The California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom (CFAITC) was incorporated in 1986. We are organized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization designed to help teachers integrate basic agricultural information into lessons and resources that meet California Education Standards, thereby providing students with a basic knowledge of where their food and fiber comes from. Our mission is to increase awareness and understanding of agriculture among California's educators and students. Our vision is an appreciation of agriculture by all. We provide California schools and educators with free professional development and standards-based classroom resources for grades K-12. The Content Standards adopted by the California State Board of Education include English Language Arts, Science, History-Social Science, Mathematics, Career Technical Education, Health, Nutrition Physical Education, Visual and Performing Arts, and English Language Development. The resources and programs developed and promoted by the California Foundation for Agriculture in the Classroom lend themselves to these subject areas using the themes such as agriculture, nutrition, and school gardens.

Unrestricted donations support the development and distribution of educational resources that increase awareness and understanding of where California grown food and fiber come from. Teachers can download the resources from our website, order print copies, at no cost, or access e-documents online formatted for use with distance learning.
Sponsorships can be provided to develop new resources to add to our compendium of commodity-specific Fact and Activity Sheets, Ag-Bites, lesson plans, and Farm to You lessons.
