Madison's Story:

"I have been a youth leader in Hands4Hope for two years now and it has made a huge impact on my life. The mentors and other leaders have helped me progress in my abilities of communication, resilience, and decision-making. The program has built my understanding of responsibility and integrity, and I have used these skills in my everyday life.

This year I was able to hear from a representative from Power House Ministries, who spoke enthusiastically about the services that his organization provides. His speech fueled my passion for trying to make a positive impact on the lives of my community.

I wish for other young, driven individuals to be able to hear those stories and learn about the needs within their community. And, with the help of Hands4Hope - Youth Making A Difference, I know the youth will be given opportunities for growth, become empowered to help others and make a lasting impact on our community."

Gordon's Story:

Gordon is a Placerville Steering Committee member and sits on numerous boards of local community organizations, including the EDC Chamber of Commerce, the EDC Farm Bureau, and the EDC Farm Trails and other community organizations.  He has extensive experience in business, including, but not limited to, owning and/or founding Madrone Tree Hill, Dry Diggings Distillery, Helm Technical Services, and Helm Solutions Group and is currently working on designing and developing a premier Glampground in the Apple Hill area. Gordon is passionate about giving back to his community and supporting Hands4Hope in their mission to empower youth to become leaders and change-makers.
