“No one told me where I was going. I just remember holding a trash bag with my stuff in it.”
These are the words of Lena, a 9-year-old girl who was removed from her home in the middle of the night after years of neglect. She had been taking care of her younger brother, missing school, and living in fear—until the day everything changed.
Lena entered foster care scared, confused, and alone. She didn’t understand why she couldn’t go home, or what would happen next. What she needed most was someone to be there for her. Someone just for her.
That someone was her CASA Advocate.
Every child deserves a champion—someone who will stand by them, fight for them, and help them rise above the challenges they face. For children in foster care, this need is urgent. Many endure the trauma of abuse or neglect, multiple placements, and the uncertainty of separation from their families.
At CASA El Dorado, we believe that no child should face these hardships alone. Our dedicated volunteer Advocates provide stability, compassion, and a powerful voice in the courtroom and beyond. Through our CASA program, Family Coaching, and Family Law support, we work tirelessly to ensure that every child we serve has the opportunity to thrive in a safe and loving home.
Since 1992, CASA El Dorado has been a champion for over 3,500 children in foster care. But the need continues. Today, 20 children in our community are waiting for someone to step up and be their advocate—their champion.
This Big Day of Giving, you can make a difference.Join us in our mission to ensure that every child has the advocate they deserve—because every child deserves a champion.
