In 1984, Ms. Sherry Schiele began to serve the homeless in Roseville by providing food and clothing out of the back of her car to those she was meeting on the streets and were entangled in the web of homelessness. She incorporated these services in 1998 as others were working with her in these efforts. The outgrowth of these initial efforts has grown and continues to this day, as mobile vans in Roseville and Auburn provide coffee and a warm breakfast for the homeless at conveniently located sites. To supplement their food needs for the remainder of the day, each guest is given a bag of food and snacks to take with them. They are also given as needed, clothing, blankets, tarps, bicycles, toiletries, laundry soap, pet food, and other sundries are also provided for our guests. We also seek to connect homeless individuals to community services and resources for housing, medical assistance, veteran's services and job placement.

As the organization has continued to see a growing need over the past two decades to address homelessness, the heart of WWJD? has continued to be expressed by volunteers and supporters who are passionate about the plight of the homeless and that they might know that although often marginalized, they are not forgotten! The open doors of the WWJD? vans are intended to be a spot in the day for homeless individuals in which they are welcomed and loved, with friendship and an outstretched hand that says, "We care about you!"

Mission

"To Compassionately Respond to the Food and Clothing Needs of the Homeless."

WWJD is a 100% all volunteer, non-profit organization assisting the homeless and working poor in Roseville and Auburn. From a mobile food service in each community, we address their immediate, daily food and clothing needs, and referrals for service and resource needs.

Needs

Tax deductible, cash donations to fund daily operations. We serve approximately 10,000 meals to working poor and homeless individuals per year from our mobile van services. The daily per person food cost is $3.50.

In-Kind Donations - Canned foods and individually packaged snacks. We also need backpacks, socks, gloves, underwear, and travel sized toiletries.

We are always in need of additional volunteers for our morning Roseville services. Volunteer opportunities include van drivers & teams for serving, van loaders and food buyers.

Fundraising assistance in creative ways to raise additional funds to support daily program operations.

In addition, the organization continues to search for feeding locations in Roseville. If you have a business or are a member of a church that would allow us to serve for one hour a week in your parking lot this information would be appreciated.
