Little Paws Doggie Rescue was the brainchild of four women in the Sacramento area that had been previously involved with another dog rescue years ago. In early 2020 we got to thinking that with the huge increase in dogs that had been adopted from shelters throughout the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic, there could be a massive problem once the pandemic was over. We were afraid that the majority of these dogs would be returned to the shelters when people went back to work. We decided to form Little Paws Doggie Rescue to help alleviate that problem, if it did occur. Even if our fears were not realized, we knew that there would always be a need for dog rescues such as Little Paws in the Sacramento area.
At Little Paws Doggie Rescue, we specialize in senior, neglected, hard-to-place, pregnant and nursing dogs. These are dogs that typically have higher vet bills and need more personalized care, so we are here to take the time to help them. Help looks different in every case - for some it might be time to decompress from a stressful situation, for others it might be figuring out complex medical needs to come up with a long term health plan. Whatever the case is, we will be there for them to provide the care and support they need. We are 100% volunteer run, which means all donations go directly towards helping more dogs.
