KidsFirst is the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Placer County, operating Family Resource Centers in Roseville and Auburn. Established in 1989, KidsFirst is a private, non-profit, community-based organization. Our vision is that all children live in a safe, healthy, and nurturing home. KidsFirst functions as a single point of entry for information and referrals, raising prevention awareness and providing an array of family support programs to strengthen families, empower parents, and keep kids safe.

KidsFirst services include child, adult, and family therapy, postpartum depression therapy, parenting classes, in-home parent education, health insurance and CalFresh enrollment assistance, support groups, community workshops, and information and referrals to low and no-cost resources. In the 2017-2018 program year, KidsFirst served nearly 3,300 children and 2,600 adults through direct programs and services. KidsFirst also reached nearly 11,930 individuals by participating in over 180 community outreach events during the year.

Mission

KidsFirst's mission: Empower and Strengthen Children and Families through Education, Advocacy, and Counseling, to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect. Our vision is for all children to live in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment. Our purpose is to strengthen children and families through evidenced-based programs. Our focus is prevention and early intervention of child abuse. We are decreasing the risks of child maltreatment to create strong, vibrant communities.

Needs

Contributions help keep services including therapy, parent and child training classes, educational workshops, and case management services, accessible for families and children in Placer County.

Donations of diapers and wipes.

Donations of gift cards for groceries or gas.
