Vision

Through our compassion, give hope, inspiration and empowerment to those who are battling the fight against cancer.

The Cup With Love Project was founded in a living room, over a cup of tea and amongst good friends. Inspired by simple, but thoughtful acts of kindness bestowed upon her during her cancer treatment, Cup With Love founder, Molly Ximenez was inspired to share that same compassion with newly diagnosed cancer patients. The concept of gifting a teacup to those on a cancer journey, or those whose lives have been impacted by cancer, grew from these humble beginnings and today has profoundly touched the lives of individuals world-wide.

Molly's vision lead to the formal creation of “the Cup With Love Project” in 2005, as a recognized not-for-profit organization. Since then, the Cup With Love Project has collected cups, wrapped and provided those gifts of love to thousands of cancer survivors undergoing treatment. Thanks both to Molly's inspiration and a band of loving volunteers, the same acts of compassion and kindness continue.

Sacramento, California (USA)-based, the Cup With Love Project serves to empower those traveling through their cancer journey with love and hope, by letting them know they are not alone and that they have the inner strength to fight the fight through the Cup With Love Project community.

Mission

The Cup With Love Project is a non-profit organization that represents world-wide acts of kindness to individuals impacted by cancer. The Cup With Love Project's commitment is to provide emotional support to cancer survivors, patients undergoing cancer treatment and those impacted by cancer.

A gifted cup symbolizes love, hope, prayers for inner strength, and serves to empower them as they travel through their cancer journey. It is a true testament that lets them know that they are not alone.

The Cup With Love Project also provides advocacy, mentoring, education on cancer prevention, and raises awareness on cancer-related health issues. Through these combined efforts it benefits and strengthens all communities.

Needs

Our needs are varied from donations of cups, packaging material, funds to purchase cups, postage, and volunteers to help spread the word and provide outreach to organizations that frequently serve people dealing with cancer treatment, recovery, grieving, and providing support to others. Potential partnerships are important in this regard as we are a very small organization relying on four board members to get things done. Covid has limited our access to hospitals and clinics that could help us with reaching more people to help. Institutional contacts that could help us bridge that gap would also be valuable.

"Thank you for the cup! Every day is a struggle. Anything to keep my head up. Stage 4 cancer ovarian, uterine and endometrial."

"A much-appreciated comfort to help me get through this terrible disease."

"Thank you so much for the cup and thoughtfulness. I am 38, with breast cancer, BRCA1 gene, double mastectomy and hysterectomy."

"Thank you for making my wife's cancer journey a little brighter. Bless you for what you do."

"This is my second go round with breast cancer. The cup requested is for me, to give me strength to persevere".

"I received a beautiful antique teacup from this group when I was undergoing treatment and it really brightened my day."

"Thank you for sending me one of your brilliant teacups. I have had a really rough couple of years, and I really appreciate a pick me up...a reason to smile."

"Thank you for the cup! My mother was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer at the end of June. Our family took a hard hit receiving the news, but now the fight's on to beat this cancer. She is an amazing mother and warrior. She has goals she'd like to reach and has a bumpy road ahead of her but, thanks to you, she has positive vibes."

"I was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. I am going through chemotherapy. I think it is wonderful what you do. Thank You!"

"Thank you for the cup, a reminder that, despite my treatments and bad news, I am never alone."

And we can, safely, claim that the CWLP has distributed over 500 cups across the globe.
