$5,000 Goal

CivicWell is a nonprofit supporting sustainable solutions and the leaders and communities that implement them. We inspire, equip, connect, and cultivate civic leadership for local innovation and community change. We run the CivicSpark AmeriCorps program, dedicated to building capacity for local governments in California, Washington, and Colorado to address emerging environmental and social equity resilience challenges.

-CivicSpark Fellows have served over 1,000,000 hours, a value of nearly $30 million for local communities
-CivicSpark helps young people launch sustainability careers -- 80% of alumni are still working in the field
-Across the 21-22 and 22-23 service years, 171 CivicSpark Fellows are building local capacity to address resilience issues

We are fundraising for the CivicSpark Emergency Fund, which supports CivicSpark AmeriCorps Fellows with unanticipated expenses like medical emergencies, natural disasters, and housing crises. Every dollar donated goes directly to a young person in need.

-1 in 5 Fellows receives support from the Emergency Fund every year
-If we meet our goal, we will be able to support 10 Fellows

Giving Activity

Mission

CivicWell supports leaders responding to the climate crisis and its impact on their communities. As a nonprofit organization, we inspire, equip, connect, and cultivate leaders working toward a more sustainable and resilient future.

Needs

We need donations for the CivicSpark Emergency Fund!

The average grant to a Fellow in need is $500.

If ten people donate $50 (or if five people donate $100!), you will support one CivicSpark Fellow through an emergency, helping them continue to serve their community.

Equity Statement

Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) are central to our mission and work at CivicWell. As we endeavor to support sustainable solutions and the communities that implement them, we approach each project with a DEI lens and infuse our values into our work.

Supporting local leaders in building healthy, thriving, and climate-resilient communities includes working toward equitable access to transportation options, housing, clean air and water, reliable and renewable energy, and safe public spaces. Local vision always leads our work, and we are committed to ensuring that processes are inclusive and marginalized voices are centered.

Our organization has worked with Tribesy Consulting to fully integrate our foundational commitment to DEI, and an internal DEI committee of CivicWell employees has been working diligently on developing structural and cultural assessments; DEI definitions; a litmus test; and a roadmap with best practices, benchmarks, and accountability measures.

Our vision is to foster and nurture a community that is diverse, equitable, and inclusive to our staff, partners, and the communities we engage. We understand that this is a journey that requires the ongoing dedication of our leadership, staff, and partners; and CivicWell is committed to embracing this path as an organization.
