Tuleyome is effective at protecting public lands because we use a three phase approach to create lasting change. We are now scaling up our work in the critical third phase and need your support to bring nature back from the brink.
Phase I was to get protected status for our special places. Since 2002, we have protected 538,824 acres and 20 miles of river in seven counties with the Berryessa Snow Mountain National Monument, Molok Luyuk and Cache Creek Wild and Scenic River designations. We've made strategic property purchases and easements in the Monument lands, and we supported the development of critical habitat for endangered species at Woodland Regional Park Preserve.
Phase II is developing stewardship plans that protect these lands and all the things we value within them – the hikes, the cultural resources, the night sky, the wildflowers and the wildlife. Our plans are continually evaluated and aligned with the latest science so your ongoing support helps us remain an innovative force for rewilding public lands.
Phase III is implementing those plans. We've built trails and maintained them, cleaned up mercury mines and implemented rewilding measures to co-steward our land with tribes as well as develop Woodland Regional Park Preserve and our own lands and easements. Our investments in Process-Based Restoration are starting to show that rewilding of the Inner Coast Range can be done in our lifetimes.
Tuleyome will, as always, be there every step of the way – protect, plan and steward. This is how we all protect the land and its cultural and natural resources today and for our kids’ kids’ kids.
We do all of this in partnership with you, our supporters. And, through Big Day of Giving, you can double your impact. Right now we have a $27,750 match – for every dollar you give, our generous donors will match it! So give now – to Tuleyome and these places we all love so much!
