The Placer LGBTQ+ Center is looking to expand available programs and activities

$1,000 goal

The Placer LGBTQ+ Center is the first center of its kind in Placer County. It serves as a resource hub and activity center for the local LGBTQ+ community. As an organization it has existed since 2013. However, a physical space for the center did not exist until 2026.

The idea for a center for the LGBTQ+ community came about due to the expressed need in the local LGBTQ+ community for a safe and inclusive space.  There was also a need in finding resources, activities, and programs that were previously unavailable or difficult to access before the center gained a physical space.

Currently, The Center has several programs and group activities taking place each month. These include a group support meeting, a monthly social night, and a crafting group.  While these programs are popular and well attended, there is currently a desire to expand the offerings available to the community.

Many members of the community have expressed significant interest in both participating in and organizing new programs and activities. These community members have a diverse range of skills, talents, and knowledge that they wish to share. The Placer LGBTQ+ Center is the place to make that happen.

The donations raised through this fundraiser will go towards the resources, materials, and equipment needed to have a wider variety of programs and activities at the center. They will provide the LGBTQ+ community in Placer County a place to connect, participate in engaging activities, and learn new skills in a safe and inclusive environment.
