Mandy Fuchs (Burchett)'s Fundraiser

Hey everyone! 

If you didn't already know, I am serving as the President of Moms of Elk Grove! 

Moving back to the community I grew up in, now as a single mom with two young kids - I was lost in how to connect with people. Where do I take my kids for their first hair cuts? What pediatricians do we trust? How do I navigate my divorce, and with the right support? 

Thankfully my awesome sister, Natalie, and new-found EG friend, Sarah (formally Jonah's speech therapist), came right alongside to help bring Moms of Elk Grove to life! 

Currently, it's branched out so much in a year and a half! 

We host two monthly events - A 'Moms Night Out' where we encourage leaving the kids at home and coming to connect with other moms and a Kids Play/Activity get together. Our kids events are always FREE, that way anyone can have access to bringing their children out and connecting with others as well. 

We also maintain a local Community Pantry inside a great indie bookstore here in town. This is a spot where anyone can come anonymously and grab a few food items for themselves or their family who might need it. It's about $100/week to keep this stocked and the need for this has only risen! 

Our goals beyond what we're doing are vast but exciting! We hope to one day hold a full resource fair in town for families! This would help parents understand overall safety; car seat, home, and more. Learn more about mental health resources, child intervention needs, etc. Also focus in on the hard parts of post-partum, life transitions, and more. 

The three of us are unique moms with our own experiences. As we've talked more, our community is full of Mothers who need support. Our overall goal is to bring community together and truly showcase how great Elk Grove is in supporting our Moms and Families! Recently voted the #1 city to live in, help us keep the mission moving forward!
