Empower Youth (started in 2020), a teen community service club that supports Empower Yolo is raising funds in honor of Empower Yolo's 45th anniversary and to support Empower Yolo's shelter.  The teens do a monthly community service project which supports the children at the safe house and other children of Empower Yolo clients. Empower Youth has clubs at Davis High School and Emerson Junior High School where they organize monthly meetings to discuss issues (about domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, healthy relationships) and plan their monthly service projects.  This year in 2022 Empower Youth has done the following service projects: Human Trafficking Awareness Month toiletry drive (January); Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month Campaign/healthy relationships presentation (February); Movie Night for the children at the shelter (March); Easter egg hunt and party for the shelter kids (April).  The Empower Youth kids donate all the food, treats and supplies for their community service projects.

Empower Youth is also piloting a weekly tutoring/homework club at the shelter where a Davis High School helps and supports a student at the shelter with homework and studying.

Empower Youth members would love your support for their Big Day of Giving campaign; they are trying to raise $1,045 in honor of Empower Yolo’s 45th anniversary. Empower Yolo has $15,000 in matching funds! All donations will receive a $1 for $1 match up to $15,000!

Please donate any time from now through May 5 at 11:59 p.m.  Thank you for supporting our youths!
