Every kid deserves someone in their corner

On May 7th, I'm asking you to join me in supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Sacramento, an organization I'm proud to serve on the board of.

Here's what I know after watching this work up close: when a young person is paired with a caring adult mentor, something shifts. They start to see a future they didn't know was possible. Not because someone handed it to them, but because someone showed up for them.

A mentor doesn't change a kid's circumstances overnight. But they open a door to confidence, to new experiences, to the simple belief that someone cares. That's where success starts.

Making a match isn't as simple as introducing two people. BBBS staff screen and train every mentor, throughtfully pair them with a child, and support the relationship for as long as it lasts. That work takes resources, and that's where you come in. The cost to make a single match is $2,500. And BBBS Sacranmento has over 150 kids waiting to be matched.
